SALT and FAT versus SUGAR & WHITE FLOUR
Where lies the enemy?????
Proposed Dietary Guidelines Take Aim at Obesity was an article not so recently released.
By encouraging Americans to slash their salt intake, eat a plant-based diet, and increase physical activity, the newly proposed 2010 Dietary Guidelines take aim at the obesity epidemic.
I am almost appalled that I could post an article like this---ask anyone suffering from diabetes, metabolic syndrome and anything related and they will tell you that salt and fat are not the culprits but SUGAR & WHITE FLOUR.
If everyone would start cutting out sugar and white flour we would slowly see a great shift and even halt to this horrific obesity and diabetes epidemic.
I propose that it be written like this:
By encouraging Americans to slash their SUGAR & WHITE FLOUR intake, eat a plant-based diet, and increase physical activity, the newly proposed 2010 Dietary Guidelines take aim at the obesity epidemic
Sorry to sound so outspoken but we are in trouble and we need to call a spade a spade---look the enemy in the eye and start a new challenge!
Let us start by encouraging and even demanding that food manufacturers start producing alternatives to sugar laden products and prove to them that people will start buying and appreciating "REAL" "no sugar added" products.
I do not say that we should not lower salt and fat intake---of course we should—but that will not do it—slash the sugar and white flour and we will see very fast changes---GO AHEAD PROVE ME WRONG—TRY IT FOR ONE WEEK AND LET US KNOW THE RESULTS!
I would like to start a serious platform on this issue---BUT I NEED YOUR HELP-- Let's hear what you all have to say.
